Ezekiel 16

I would encourage everyone to read this entire chapter. I’m not putting it all down here just because there is so much, but I believe that this chapter would have a message to America from God. Here God talks to Israel about the love that he has had for them, and how he found them when they were nothing and made a great nation of them. Israel took the blessings of God though and used the very things that he had given them to play the harlot and worship other gods. God talks about them sacrificing their sons and daughters and committing abominations before him.

Let us look at the United States. In spite of what many educators, and the press, would have us believe, we got our start because of Christians who came here because they wanted to be free to worship God. That is the biggest single thing that sets the United States apart from any other country. Even a president in South America recognized this fact when a European reporter asked about the difference. The reporter mentioned the fact that South America had the same resources, so what was the difference? The president of that country (I can’t remember which although I read the report) said that people came to South America in search of gold, but the founders of the United States came in search of God. If people in other countries understand that that is what has set us apart, and made us great, why can’t we who live here recognize that fact?

God has blessed us, and now that we are the wealthiest country in the world we have turned from him. We now have a president who has mocked the bible and God in speeches on capital hill. He has told the world that the United States is not a Christian nation. We have started depending on the wealth that God has blessed us with rather than depending on the God who supplied that wealth to begin with. And as the children of Israel sacrificed their sons and daughters, we have had our own holocaust right here in the United States where the victims are our own sons and daughters that have been murdered by doctors with the consent of their own parents.

We as a country have become a wicked nation, and where it is not politically correct to say so, I believe that we are seeing just a little of the judgment that is to come. Right now the only thing that I can see that we have going for us is that God has given his promise to bless the nation who is a blessing to Israel. We have done that. I believe that the only thing it would take now to really experience God’s judgment would be for us to no longer be a blessing to Israel, and when you watch some of the reports of the press and some of the actions of our president, you have to wonder how much longer before we do stop being a friend to Israel.

We as individuals and as a nation need to repent before it is too late. We need to take what God says in Ezekiel 18:31,32 to heart.

“Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.”
