Is Jesus God Almighty Or Just The Son Of God?

I have always found it interesting that so many Christians don't know the answer to this question. The answer is actually very easy to find. I guess they just don't really care enough to search the scriptures for the answer. Well if you don't know, read on and I will answer the question in this article and explain what the Bible has to say on the subject.

First of all let's go to John 1:1-3
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."

So, let's look first at these verses. Who is this "Word?" Well according to these verses "the Word was God." It even goes on to tell us that the "Word" was the creator God. It says "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." So the "Word" is God who the Bible talks about in Genesis 1:1 when it says "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." So let's go on.

John 1:14
"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

Now this is talking about Jesus. But look who it says Jesus was. It says "the Word was made flesh." According to this passage God, who created everything that is, took on flesh. "and dwelt among us." So yes Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, but he is also God Almighty, The Creator God.

This is why Jesus said in John 8:58 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Remember when Moses asked God who he was to tell the children of Israel had sent him? God told him to tell them that "I AM hath sent me unto you". Exodus 3:14 People who say that Jesus never claimed to be God are wrong. The Jews knew exactly what he was claiming. Look at the next verse. They tried to stone him.

So in conclusion, I could go on and on. We could look at where Jesus said "I and my father are one." We could look at where Phillip asked Jesus to show them the Father, and Jesus asked him, "have I been so long with you, yet ye have not known me?" Either way, the Bible is very clear on the subject. Jesus is God.
